Commercial dog beds can be kind of expensive and often times dont hold up as well as ones you could make with things you find around your house. Weve come up with a list of easy, do-it-yourself dog beds that anyone could easily create for their furry child.
Stuffed Pillowcase: Fill a pillow case with any sort of stuffing you find comfy and then sew the end shut. Have a bigger dog? Use a body pillow case instead of a regular sized pillow case. Stuffing is cheaper than an actual pillow, and the bed itself is usually less than $9.00 total when finished!
Shallow Box: Have an old shipping box? Find one that fits your dogs size and then fill it with hay. Its the perfect comfy little resting spot for a pup- and unlike fancy beds, the hay in the bottom is easy to clean out in case your little furball has an accident.
Old Couch Cushion: Time to visit your local thrift shop and charity stores! Ask them specifically to keep an eye out for an old worn couch in which you could buy the cushions from. Cushions are the prime size and comfort level for a dog bed. Not to mention you can cover them in fabric to fit almost any interior décor.
Folded Quilt or Blanket: If you have a big cushiony blanket that youre not using anymore, try to fold it into a square thats an appropriate size for your dog. Blankets look nice laying on the floor, can easily be stored away and cleaned, and extra ones can be found in almost any house.
