Meet Sasha, a sniffer dog who has a very sensitive nose can detect up corpses in the water over a distance of 30 meters. Border collie type dog is the first dog trained as a search dog for a drowning victim.
For 12 months, ability and nose have been trained to recognize the smell of the body or bodies trapped in the water. Two weeks ago, Sasha managed to do his first mission to find the body within 30 meters of the water by boat.
"Sasha was great to work with. If he managed to pass the exam next August, he will be a member of a great team," said coach Dave Marsh, as reported by the Metro (03/06).
This three-year-old dog will help Bolton Mountain Rescue, Greater Manchester. Previously, Sasha trained using pig cadaver odor resembling human cadavers.
